The Knight Who Learned to Share His Heart by Dwight A. Scarbrough-Grant is a poignant children’s book that explores the themes of vulnerability, empathy, and the power of human connection. A former military veteran, Dwight weaves his personal experiences into a story that transcends the battlefield and explores the emotional armor we all build to protect ourselves from pain and change.

After 22 years of military service, Scarbrough-Grant found himself at a crossroads, facing retirement and divorce. This profound shift led him to a transformative journey, not one of external battles, but an internal fight with vulnerability, acceptance, and resilience. The knight, once clad in metaphorical armor, learns that true strength is found in embracing one’s emotions and supporting others.
Through his move to North Carolina and his work as a camp counselor at a therapeutic center, the knight encounters young people struggling with their own battles, teaching him the power of empathy, forgiveness, and the importance of rebuilding one’s life after hardship.
With The Knight Who Learned to Share His Heart, Dwight A. Scarbrough-Grant invites readers to explore the healing power of opening up, finding strength in vulnerability, and supporting each other.
