DONNELLY, Idaho, Nov. 5, 2026
Idaho’s independent, four-season destination makes its debut in the annual rankings, earning recognition for value, family-friendly skiing and exceptional guest experiences.
DONNELLY, Idaho, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Tamarack Resort has been named the No. 25 ski resort in the West in SKI Magazine’s 2027 Resort Guide, marking the Idaho destination’s debut in the publication’s annual rankings of North America’s leading ski resorts.
The recognition is based on SKI’s annual Reader Resort Survey, which evaluates ski destinations across 18 categories, including snow quality, grooming, terrain, lifts, guest service and overall resort experience. Tamarack was recognized particularly for its value and family-friendly atmosphere, with readers highlighting the resort’s welcoming staff, well-groomed runs and uncrowded slopes.
In its review, SKI Magazine characterized Tamarack as an approachable, relaxed mountain destination where the quality of the guest experience takes precedence over the crowds and complexity often associated with larger ski resorts. Survey respondents praised the resort’s dependable grooming, scenic mountain views and accessibility for families and recreational skiers, with one reader describing Tamarack as a “hidden gem.”
For Tamarack Resort President Scott Turlington, the recognition reflects both the resort’s continued growth and the dedication of the team responsible for delivering its mountain experience. “Being named among the top 25 ski resorts in the West is a tremendous honor,” said Turlington. “It’s especially meaningful because this recognition comes directly from skiers and snowboarders who have experienced Tamarack firsthand. It’s a testament to our team and the exceptional destination we’re building here.”
Located just 90 miles north of Boise along the shores of Lake Cascade, Tamarack offers 2,800 vertical feet of skiing and riding across 2,000 mountain acres, with 59 named ski runs and three terrain parks. The resort combines diverse mountain recreation with a pedestrian-friendly alpine village featuring lodging, dining and après-ski amenities.
The upcoming winter season will introduce additional experiences for guests, including Tamarack’s debut as an Ikon Pass Bonus Mountain, providing eligible passholders with two complimentary ski days. Other enhancements include a refreshed rental fleet, complimentary guided mountain tours and expanded seasonal programming, including full-moon yoga, snowshoe and wine walks, and the return of the festive Miracle Bar pop-up.
The recognition continues a notable year for Tamarack Resort. Earlier in 2026, the resort was named the No. 1 Resort in the U.S. West in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards and the No. 21 Ski Resort in the United States in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards. Tamarack’s Osprey Meadows Golf Course was also ranked the #1 Public Access Golf Course in Idaho by Golfweek.
