Latitude Founding Member of International Consortium Appointed to Advise Argentina on Citizenship by Investment
PR Newswire
PARIS, Oct. 2, 2026
PARIS, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Following the announcement in Paris today by Argentina’s Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, of the Government’s plan to open its new Citizenship by Investment Program to applications in the fourth quarter of 2026, Latitude Group (“Latitude”), a global leader in investment migration and international mobility, is pleased to reaffirm its role as a founding member of Argentina Mobility for Investment and Global Opportunity Limited (“AMIGO Ltd”), an international consortium appointed to provide technical and strategic advisory support to the Republic of Argentina in the development and implementation of the Program.

Eric Major, Chairman and CEO of Latitude Group, and Kenneth Ing, Chief Legal Counsel of Latitude’s Government Advisory practice, were in attendance in Paris alongside Minister Caputo and other senior members of the AMIGO consortium for this important announcement, marking a significant milestone in the development of Argentina’s new investment migration framework.
On May 15, 2026, AMIGO Ltd signed a Non-Onerous Technical Collaboration Agreement with Argentina’s Agency for Citizenship by Investment Programs, the decentralized government body operating under the Ministry of Economy responsible for the development, administration and oversight of the country’s Citizenship by Investment framework.
The agreement brings together several established international specialists to contribute their collective expertise in investment migration, program design, operations, due diligence, compliance, international marketing and government advisory.
Alongside Latitude, the AMIGO consortium comprises AIM Global, Apex Capital Partners, Arton Capital and Passport Legacy.
Latitude has played an active role in advising the Agency on key aspects of the emerging Program, including program architecture, operational structures, investment thresholds and international market positioning.
The consortium provides its technical advisory support at no cost to the Argentine State. The collaborative structure is intended to draw upon the complementary experience of several international specialists while supporting institutional resilience, transparency, operational flexibility and rigorous international standards.
All decisions concerning applicant eligibility, due diligence and the granting of Argentine citizenship remain exclusively within the authority of the Republic of Argentina.
Argentina’s Citizenship by Investment Program
Argentina established the legal basis for Citizenship by Investment in 2025, creating a pathway under which foreign nationals making a qualifying investment may apply for Argentine citizenship without a prescribed prior period of residence.
South America’s first Citizenship by Investment Program is due to open for applications in the fourth quarter of 2026 and will offer two principal investment options:
- Treasury Contribution: A non-refundable contribution of USD 350,000 for a single applicant, with additional contributions according to family composition. For instance, the required contribution for a family of four is expected to be USD 500,000; or
- Sovereign Bond Investment: An investment of USD 800,000 in an Argentine sovereign bond.
In addition, the principal applicant’s spouse and children may apply. An additional contribution of USD 100,000 to the National Treasury applies to a spouse and to each child aged 18 to 25 inclusive who has never been married and has no children. Children under 18 may apply by making a contribution of USD 25,000. Adult children are not required to prove financial dependency.
The investment structure has been designed to support Argentina’s current economic priorities while establishing an internationally competitive route for investors and globally mobile families seeking Argentine citizenship.
At this stage of Argentina’s economic transformation, the contribution route is intended to generate immediate foreign currency inflows, supporting the country’s fiscal and monetary objectives. The sovereign bond route provides an alternative mechanism for applicants while supporting longer-term government financing requirements.
As economic conditions and national priorities evolve, future phases of the Program may incorporate additional qualifying investment categories designed to channel international capital toward broader economic and development objectives.
A Significant New Global Mobility Opportunity
Argentina combines the attributes of a major G20 economy with an internationally respected citizenship and extensive global mobility.
Argentine citizenship provides visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to a large number of countries and territories and, importantly, provides preferential residence rights across much of South America through regional mobility arrangements, including MERCOSUR.
These rights can provide Argentine citizens with comparatively straightforward pathways to residence in participating South American countries, creating opportunities to live, work, study and establish businesses across much of the continent.
Commenting on today’s announcement in Paris, Eric Major, Chairman and CEO of Latitude Group, said:
“Today’s announcement by Minister Caputo represents an important milestone in Argentina’s ambition to establish a new Citizenship by Investment Program. Having worked closely with the Argentine authorities on the development of this initiative, it was a privilege for Kenneth and me to be present in Paris for this announcement and to witness the Government’s commitment to bringing the Program to market in the fourth quarter of this year.”
“Argentina has the potential to become one of the most significant new entrants to the global investment migration market in many years. It is a G20 economy with extraordinary natural resources, a highly educated population, a globally recognized culture and an internationally respected passport.”
“The opportunity goes well beyond attracting capital. Done properly, Citizenship by Investment can connect Argentina with a new community of internationally mobile entrepreneurs, investors and families while generating meaningful economic benefits for the country.”
Christopher Willis, Managing Partner of Latitude, added:
“For families, the value of a second citizenship is in the choices it creates over time. Argentina combines access to a G20 economy with opportunities to live, work and build a business across much of South America. As the Program takes shape, our focus is on helping clients understand how it fits their family’s long-term plans.”
“We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Argentine Government and our fellow AMIGO consortium members as we work toward the Program’s anticipated launch later this year.”
Kenneth Ing, Chief Legal Counsel of Latitude’s Government Advisory practice, added:
“We have been proud to contribute our international experience to the development of this important initiative. Our focus has been to bring lessons learned from established residence and citizenship programs around the world to Argentina, particularly in the areas of program architecture, governance, operational design, due diligence, compliance and international market positioning.”
Program Integrity and International Standards
Program integrity and due diligence will form central components of Argentina’s Citizenship by Investment framework. Standards for due diligence, financial transparency and risk management will align with the recommendations of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
The Agency for Citizenship by Investment Programs (ACIP) will lead application assessments, working with the State Intelligence Secretariat, the Financial Information Unit, the Ministry of Security and the Ministry of the Interior. Checks will cover identity, the lawful origin and traceability of funds, assets and finances, jurisdictional risk, criminal and reputational records, and immigration history.
The Agency will submit its recommendation to the National Directorate of Migration, which will approve or reject each application. International due diligence experts will also be involved in the process, in accordance with industry best practices.
All funds must pass through the formal financial system and comply with applicable anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and financial transparency standards.
The involvement of AMIGO’s international specialists is intended to complement these sovereign functions by contributing international experience and technical knowledge accumulated across established investment migration programs and markets.
Following Minister Caputo’s announcement in Paris, the Government is preparing for the Program’s launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. Further details concerning the final program framework, application procedures and commencement date are expected to be communicated by the relevant Argentine authorities in due course.
